{ Shopping Guide } Places to Shop for Plus Size in Richmond VA

As a Richmond VA native (been here since I was 3 or 4) I like to know where I can go to shop for clothes that will fit me. I'm not on the small side of plus (14-18), I'm on the hardashelltoshopfor side of plus (22-26). To boot I have pear body which means if my jeans fit my legs and butt, they gape something fierce at the waist. And my tops are almost always two sizes different from my bottoms, which is why finding a dress to fit me, SUCKS. So for you fellow Richmonder +Girls who can't find clothing in your size in regular stores and hate buying online, here's a list of stores no more than 20 miles from the heart of the city. Just for you. :)

I adore LB. I can walk in and want to buy at least 5 items. They never fail me, but try to shop when they have sales or RealWomenBucks going on since the prices are a little expensive (at least for me, a poor person, haha)

I've never actually shopped at a Catherine's before but they seem to be more geared towards a slightly older crowd. As part of the Lane Bryant network, I trust them to deliver.

I've been in Avenue once, right after they opened, looking for something (I don't remember what now) and I didn't find what I was looking for but it seemed like a great place to find trendy pieces. I liked the style, just didn't have the money. :(

{ La Grande Dame }

A small boutique in the heart of RVA, it seems like La Grande Dame also caters to a slightly older crowd. I don't know if I'd find anything for my tastes but check it out. It might be pure gold!

The only consignment shop for plus sizes in RVA, there are very few reviews for Kathi's Kloset. I've never been but I want to check it out at some point. Let me know what you think if you go!
